Additional Beef

I also want to add an additional beef to my previous blog.

How come, when a father goes to work to support his family, no one questions his fathering abilities? But we're quick to judge a mom?

  1. I'm not going to lie.. Im a little bit old school and feel the father -should- go to work to support his family. (how's that for a debate starter huh? lol)

  2. You're so funny Kyla. I like to think I'm pretty modern thinking, but I'm still sort of traditional when it comes to Daddy going off to work. Again, I guess its totally a personal choice but I do often feel that I need to be won over by good reasons, such as the woman has a "better" career possibly making more money or sometimes the Dad in the relationship has more of a maternal instinct than the mom.

  3. yes, I have a friend (the parents iused to babysit for actually) and the dad is by FAR more "motherly" to put it one way, and they have their work schedules arranged so that he works until 2 and she works the evening just so that they can more so share the responsibilities because he 'enjoys' it so much more - not to say she doesn't but part of her needs that employment. I have come to terms easily with their situation because aside from a few hours a few days a week the primary care giver is one of the parents! :)

My OTHER friend is in the situation where SHE makes more than he, and they're not sure how they're going to work things out because he's not at all the 'motherly' type - though that could change once bundle o' joy #1 arrives in the new year!
